Randall Scott Cycle Company sets itself apart from the rest of the cycling industry by offering customers our famous Pro Build professional assembly on select bicycles.
Check out this video where we quickly explain the differences between pro-build and factory direct shipped bikes. You can see how the bike will arrive at your door as well as brief assembly examples on pro-built bikes.
PRO-BUILD:
Each pro build is individually assembled and signed by our Head Master Mechanic. Our Master Mechanic removes the bike from its box and does a full inspection to insure it is in perfect condition. Using our 25 point assembly checklist, our master mechanic then does the following:
Completely assemble the bicycle checking the alignment of the frame & fork
Add additional lubrication
Pre-stretch the cables
Align and adjust the derailleurs
Grease the pedal threads
Align & tighten the crank sprockets and arms
Position the saddle level and center it on the seatpost
Attach the brakes and adjust them correctly
Assemble the handlebars
True the wheels
Our Master Mechanic then Test Rides each bicycle on a controlled loop (to make sure that the gears and brakes are correctly adjusted). This assures us that your bicycle is in mint condition.
We will then disassemble the bicycle just enough to fit it back into the shipping box, add more packing protection, and secure all movable parts to prevent any damage that might occur during transit.Oversized bicycles will arrive in 2 boxes. Both Wheels need to be attached.
Reassembly typically takes our customers only 10 to 15 minutes.
We apologize for the inconvience but we cannot offer the pro-build on bicycles shipped to Canada and APO addresses.
Sincerely,
If you do not choose the pro build service, bikes will be sent to you Dealer Ready. Dealer ready bicycles are delivered to you 90% assembled and packed for shipping in the original manufacturer’s box in factory direct mint condition. The brakes, gears, and cables are not adjusted. Although the rear wheel is attached, the front wheel, handlebar, and seat are not attached.
Please note, Dealer Ready Bicycles must be assembled by a certified bicycle mechanic at a professional bike shop in order to validate warranty.
If you purchase your bike in "Dealer Ready" condition, professional assembly by a qualified bike professional is required including the following:
Install saddle to seat post and seat post to frame.
Install Handlebar on stem and stem on fork.
Adjust headset.
Install front wheel in fork.
Install pedals to crank arms.
Inspect cranks and bottom bracket.
Connect and adjust front brakes.
Adjust rear brake, front and rear derailleurs and shifters.
Inspect wheels for true and round condition and adjust if necessary.
