All the BAMF bikes are black (like the guys at BAMF are going to fight over color pallets) and come with minimal decal and a killer 4 color (gold, white, purple and blue) sticker kit for you to create the look you want. Put the stickers on the bike, your car or your friend’s back. BAMF takes bikes seriously…like tattoos. They don’t want you to show up on the trail and see the exact same machine on the trail. BAMF wants you to make it your own. Bikes are a permanent fixture in their life and they pour that passion into their work. From the name alone, BAMF Grappler, you get the idea they are not going to hold back.

The BAMF Grappler is aluminum 29er with an edge. From the RockShox Dart 3 fork, SRAM components and strong disc brakes this bike is ready to go. BAMF spent over a year getting the geometry just right. Some of those bandwagon types with the huge head tubes (up to 140mm???!!!) didn’t do their homework…they just rushed out a 29” wheeled bike hoping to get your wallet open. You could call them to let them know but they don’t have a customer service phone number…nice customer support! The big wheels have gained popularity and for a good reason. Riders are accepting the fact that big wheels roll over rough terrain better…and faster! Rolling on a 29er makes you wonder why they weren’t popular sooner. They flat out haul ass on the trail.
The Grappler is dressed out with SRAM X.4 Trigger shifters that are paired up with the SRAM X.4 rear derailleur and SRAM 3.0 front derailleur providing a precise shifting partnership. When the time comes to brake you will have the trusty Avid BB-5 mechanical disc brakes and Avid FR-5 levers at your will. The BAMF MTB saddle adds a nice touch of comfort even for the hardest of riders out there can appreciate.  The Truvativ Five-D crank with the 42/32/22 chainring combination will have those big wheels turning.

The BAMF Frame
The BAMF’s foundation is lightweight 6061 aluminum creation with replaceable derailleur hanger, disc tabs and 1-1/8” integrated headset and water bottle mounts. The BAMF 29er geometry is tweaked to get the widest variety of body sizes on board. BAMF paid close attention to the head tube lengths to keep the front-end low in conjunction with the taller wheels. Too many other companies just slapped any old head tube on their bikes and they ride like an old tricycle. The Grappler has a RockShox Dart 3 29er fork with 80mm of travel and Turnkey Lockout is the perfect balance for the 29er geometry. The frame has a 27.2 seat post diameter and a 68mm English threaded bottom bracket. The head tube is designed to accept IS-2 standard threadless 1-1/8th bearings.

The BAMF Fit
Sizing a 29er bike is no different, or more difficult, than any other style of bike. By reviewing the size chart you will see a measurement called the “Eff Top Tube” measurement, also known as the Effective Top Tube Measurement. This is what the top tube would measure if it was parallel to the ground. It is an imaginary line the runs from the center of the head tube to the center of the seat tube if the seat tube was extended like a traditional frame. The size chart also lists suggested heights for the different frame sizes. This is far more helpful in sizing a bike than standing over the top tube and pulling up on the handlebars (which tells you nothing about the fit of a bike). BAMF offers four sizes to accommodate riders large and small. It will be easy to find a fit for all of our customers.
The +/- 7° stem can also be flipped and adjusted for a lower back-friendly position to a more streamline position in minutes. The lower top tube keeps the center of gravity low and the makes for an easy approach to getting on the bike. This BAMF bike was designed with the user’s needs and comfort as the #1 priority.

The BAMF Feel
The BAMF crew spent a lot of time getting this ride right. The geometry has been tweaked to improve stand over for riders and keep the front end low. The bigger wheel size raises the center of gravity but BAMF found a way to keep the bike low and lively. You will immediately feel the difference in speed on the trail. The larger footprint in the corners will have you carving at higher speeds on the WTB Prowler SL tires. Ruts, rollers and dips are all but erased with the increased circumference of the wheel. The SRAM X.4 trigger shifters guide you through the gears with confidence and ease while the Avid BB-5 mechanical brakes provide sure stopping power when it is needed. The best test is to take your new 29er out to your favorite trail and immediately you will discover the speed and handling difference.
